Toyo roadside station is home to the only on-site dairy where visitors can watch traditional cheese-making using milk from local Jersey cows, a process unchanged since the 1950s. Just steps away, the seasonal wildflower meadow behind the station blooms with native lupines and golden yarrow from late May to early July, offering a rare, uninterrupted view of native flora thriving in a high-altitude pasture.

• Best Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:30 AM on weekends to secure a spot at the bakery counter for fresh-baked milk bread, which sells out by 11:00 AM
• Hidden Gems: Visit the deli counter near the exit to find the seasonal pickled vegetables made from local cabbage, available only during summer months
• Weekend Special: On Saturdays and Sundays, the local farmers’ market opens at 10:00 AM at the east-side pavilion—this is where you’ll find the only source of hand-pressed walnut oil sold at Toyo
