Visitors can explore regional specialties at the specialty shop and take home unique treats like KAZUMO-chan merchandise, salted cod roe, and the famed "Rulrosso" fresh ramen made with rare local wheat. With a cozy café, a vibrant challenge shop offering local delicacies, and knowledgeable staff ready to guide your journey, Rumoi offers a true taste of Hokkaido’s northern soul.

Rumoi roadside station stands out as the only place where you can savor a whole, salted kazuno ko (capelin roe) served atop a creamy gelato—its briny richness perfectly balanced by the sweet, smooth base. Here, you’ll also find the only ruhuroussou ramen made with locally grown, rare Hokkaido wheat, served in a rich seafood broth. These uniquely regional treats, crafted from the area’s most prized ingredients, are available nowhere else.

• Best Arrival Time: Visit between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM to secure a seat at the Rumoi Cafe before the daily batch of Sweet Potato Croquettes sells out—these are only available at the Rumo Café location and typically sell out by 11:30 AM.

• Hidden Gems: Head to the Challenge Shop during weekday mornings to find the Cheese Okaka Rice and Cheese Curry Rice—both priced at 500 yen and sold only at the Rumo Café—before they are fully depleted by early afternoon.

• Weekend Special: On weekends, visit the Rumoi Cafe between 10:00 AM and 11:30 AM to enjoy the Doughnut Dango with a drink of your choice, as this combo is only available during the first "Chairo Mo" play session (10:00–11:30) when the indoor play area is open.

• Unique Product: Purchase the Kazumo-chan Original Goods at the Rumoi Souvenir Shop (O-katteya Moe) before 12:00 PM, as the limited-edition Rumoi-themed tote bag is often sold out by early afternoon and is only restocked during special events.

• Outdoor Activity Tip: Use the free playground equipment rental at Rushin Fureai Park (Shipko Park)—located inside the Rumoi roadside station complex—by checking in at the front desk before 11:00 AM, as rentals are only available during the first two hours of the day and are limited to 10 sets.

• Specialty Food: Order the Kazunozi Gelato – One Whole Kazunozi (880 yen) at the Rumoi Cafe before 1:00 PM, as this limited-time item is only available during summer months and is often sold out by late afternoon.

• Parking Strategy: Park in the roofed parking area near the main entrance if you plan to use the EV charging station, as the EV chargers are temporarily unavailable on the 31st of October and 7th of November, and the rooftop spots are the only ones guaranteed to be accessible during these periods.
